The original Bru Jne 11 was produced by the Bru Jne & Cie of France during the latter part of the 1800's. Our reproduction Bru Jne 11 is 24" tall on a latex composition body. The socket head is poured in Lady White porcelain slip, and the skin tones are painted to closely match those of the original antique doll. She wears a synthetic mohair wig, has James Hand Glass Craft Paperweight glass eyes (Made in England).

The dolls produced by this company were and are among the most sought-after of the French dolls. The faces of the dolls are hauntingly beautiful and one seldom forgets the expression. While the Bru dolls are not as rare as some of the other antique French dolls, their beauty makes them highly desired and thus the price of the antique is usually beyond the range of most doll collectors. Having this type of doll in any collection is like having the "cream of the crop". The purchase of a well represented reproduction enhances not only a collection of reproduction dolls, but also the collection of an antique enthusiast. An antique Bru of this size would cost approximately $18 to 20,000 (US dollars).   This doll is painted to museum quality standards.  She would make a wonderful addition to the finest of doll collections.

Our Bru's costume is of quality fabrics and consists of a dress with drop waist, over jacket and hat, slip and pantalets. Her socks are knit on very fine needles with tatting cotton and are hand made. Her shoes are of French design, hand made by Evelyn, of fine leather.  The soles are impressed with the Bru insignia.

She comes complete with a metal stand, Certificate of Authenticity, Brief written history of the Bru Jne & Cie, and the Resume of Evelyn Stanbury, GMDM, International Award Winning Artist and Certified Doll Artisan Guild Instructor.

She is fully poseable on her composition body.
